“Changing lives One Smile at a Time”

This past Valentine’s Day I worked from 7:30 am till 12:00 midnight doing nothing but fillings, extractions, and cleanings, all for FREE, and it was the best day of my life as a dentist. Before you think I lost my mind please let me explain.

I feel blessed with a successful dental practice and I wanted to show my gratitude by offering free dental care to the less fortunate in our community.

And it wasn’t just me; the entire staff at Big Smile Dental insisted that they would work all day without being paid. I can’t tell you how proud I am of them for all their help in organizing and putting this benefit together.

Along with Dr. Anu Garg, Dr. Adri Moyano and Ashley Jodarski R.D.H. we were joined by the Lincoln Park Institute for Oral & Cosmetic Surgery, Norwood Park Periodontics and the Ravenswood Dental Group.

I’d like to thank the businesses and individuals in our neighborhood that helped by donating their time and money; Friendship Chinese Restaurant, Pierre’s Bakery, Cintas Uniforms, The Logan Square Neighborhood Association, The Neck and Back Clinic, Buona Terra Italian Restaurant, Park National Bank, The Spice Thai Cuisine, Catering Out the Box, Giordano’s Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, Dr. Carlos Gonzalez M.D., Suellen Wolk and Larry Garrett. Many of my dental suppliers also pitched in (there are too many to name).

Together we were able to treat over 250+ people
and provide over $100,000 in Free dentistry.

With all that we accomplished I can say with certainty that I received much more back than I gave. So much more that I can’t wait until next Valentine’s Day to do it again. Yes, I am going to be doing this every year!

But before then on August 3rd 2006 along with the entire Big Smile Dental Team I will be giving away FREE dentistry again. This time it will be for all children up to 20 years of age. Many children are required by Illinois law to have a dental exam in order to go back to school. This could be a financial hardship for many families. All who come will receive an exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride treatment and any paper work they need filled out, all FREE of charge. So mark the day on your calendar and be sure to tell your friends and family members who might benefit from this event.

If you would like to help volunteer or make a donation, please contact Dr. Theodore M. Siegel of Big Smile Dental at 2833 N. Milwaukee Ave. www.BigSmileDental.com or 773-772-8400 .
